Strategies to help prevent weight gain
Some people gain weight when they are stop smoking. Here are some useful strategies to help prevent weight gain:
- You can use oral substitutes that are low calorie or sugar-free, such as chewing gum. Keep your hands busy and lessen the chance of over indulgence.
- Straws, tooth picks or cinnamon sticks are good to keep handy as non-edible substitutes.
- You could carry a wattle bottle everywhere you go. This can help to give you something to play and just drink it whenever you feel you want to.
- It is important to have a balance diet. You could focus on fruits and veggies. Good proteins and whole grains also healthy for you.
- Last but not least, get active! Try to find something you can do and work it as a routine. You may think of walking or stretching.
Remember, it is important for you to think of variety things that you enjoy and can helps you to prevent weight gain.

I quit smoking 7 years ago! Wow - time flies. I never thought I could quit and now I think that if I could anyone can. Maybe every ex-smoker thinks that?!
I walked a lot. Took up Salsa dancing, clutched decaf coffee and walked somemore.
Whatever you need to do to get off the nails including adding a few lbs temporarily - do it. Nothing matters more than breathing …
